HOW IMPORTANT IS PRACTICE?
WELL ALL I CAN SAY IS I BELIEVE "PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT". NOT JUST PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT, BUT "PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT".
THE GREAT SLUGGER, MARK McGUIRE, COMES TO MY MIND AS THE PLAYER WHO TOOK PRACTICE AS SERIOUSLY AS THE GAME ITSELF.
WHILE COACHING MARK IN ST. LOUIS HE WAS ALWAYS 1ST TO THE BALLPARK AND HE PRACTICED ON HIS SWING RELIGIOUSLY.
HE WANTED EVERYTHING ABOUT HIS SWING TO BE PRECISE AND PERFECT. WHILE IN THE BATTING CAGE WORKING WITH MARK IT WAS AS QUIET AS A CHURCH SERVICE.
MARK NEVER FOOLED AROUND OR PRACTICED WITHOUT TOTAL FOCUS AND CONCENTRATION. IT WAS LIKE BEING AROUND A GRAND MARTIAL ARTIST CHAMPION PREPARING FOR A BIG MATCH IN THE ARENA.
MARK WAS A GLADIATOR PREPARING FOR WAR THAT MEANT LIFE OR DEATH. HE TOOK PRACTICE TO THE NEXT LEVEL OF PERFECTION. I LEARNED SO MUCH FROM MARK IN THE AREA OF PERFECT PRACTICE.
IF YOU WANT TO BE THE VERY BEST THAT YOU CAN BE, THEN YOU MUST PRACTICE PERFECT. NO FOOLING AROUND, BUT WITH TOTAL FOCUS AND TOTAL CONCENTRATION. THIS TAKES DISCIPLINE AND PERSEVERANCE. BUT IF YOU WANT TO REACH THAT NEXT LEVEL IN YOUR GAME YOU MUST "TRAIN AND PRACTICE PERFECT".
Stay Focused
